After what seemed like a lifetime, I was finally able to spend some time putting together a new design for this site. Due to the fact that design is really not my strong suit this probably took ten times longer than it needed to, but now that it is finished I am motivated to start writing again.
One of my goals for 2011 was to start getting more active in documenting my development work, as well as my personal viewpoints on everything from business management to politics. I hope that now that I have a site design I am not ashamed of I'll be more inclined to share my findings with the world. In the weeks and months to come, I have high expectations for this site. I plan to roll out an educational video series, start to share some of the unique software development I have been working on, and express my ideas on philosopy and politics.
The new site was really easy to roll out. Once I got started it was maybe one full day of work. With the Mura CMS that it is built on it was really a snap. To be honest the only really time consuming portion was doing the initial design, and then custom coding the jQuery navigation on the right hand side. I really liked the idea of having everything an individual wanted to access always on the page. That is why you will notice that the nav follows you down the page as you scroll. Because I don't spend my days doing CSS or jQuery anymore it took me a little bit to remember what I was doing, but once I got going it all came flooding back.
I'd love to hear any feedback that anyone might have on the new site design, or more importantly any bugs that people find... I am human after all.
