Slatwall is an e-commerce system built on top of the powerful Mura CMS framework. Orignally Slatwall was developed by myself as an e-commerce solution for Nytro.com. The original goal for Slatwall was to be a system that could easily take a wide array inventory management and account systems and allow the products stored in those platforms be easily displayed on the web. The basic concept being that most e-commerce systems just recreate a datastructure that most businesses already have, and in turn create double work.
After it's initial rollout with Nytro, it gained a lot of notice specifically within the Mura CMS community. It became evident rather quickly that there is a huge demand for such a system and that there were a lot of fundimental issues with the original design. I partnered with ten24, a web develop team out of Massachusetts who have taken a leadership role in the project and really helping to drive it to new heights.
